STORYLINE
Today we are playing Curry Shoot Around. Your goal is to see how many shots you can make in 5 minutes.
INSTRUCTIONS
- I will send you to a basket to shoot at.
- You will bring your basketball to that side and stand on a dot.
- When I say, "GO!" you may try shooting from any dot on the court.
- Once you have shot, rebound the ball and find an empty dot to shoot from again.
- We will continue this for 5 minutes to see how many shots you can make.
Game 1: Play as indicated above. See how many baskets you can make.
Game 2: Pick up a dot each time you make a basket from a dot. See what basket can pick up all their dots first.
TEACHING TIPS
- Approach: Try to devide baskets on ability level so that less skilled players don’t get hit with the ball.
- Discussion: Ask students to share who they saw trying their best when shooting.
