Today we are playing Catch the Clementines V. Your goal is to collect as many clementines (basketballs) as you can without being caught by the zookeepers (taggers).
INSTRUCTIONS
- I will select two zookeepers.
- I will select four catchers, in charge of catching the clementines and putting them into the tree house
- (hula-hoops).
- The rest of you will be monkeys (runners).
- When I say, “GO!” the monkeys must:
- o Run to the forest
- o Grab a clementine
- o Dribble back and pass the clementine to any catcher
- Once monkeys are inside the forest they are safe and cannot be tagged.
- If a monkey is tagged by a zookeeper, he/she must go back and get a high-five from a catcher to get back
- in the game. If a monkey is in possession of a clementine, he/she must return it.
- Monkeys must pass the clementines outside of the boundary cones.
- Zookeepers cannot cross either side of the boundary cones.
- We will begin a new game when all the clementines are collected and new zookeepers and catchers are
- selected.

OBJECTIVE
Today we are playing Shadow. In this game, the objective is to get past the defensive student and make a basket.
INSTRUCTIONS
- I will divide you into two groups - offense and defense.
- Before the game begins, line up behind your designated marker cone.
- When I say, "GO!" defense will sprint towards offense, remaining an arm's length away from each other.
- The offense must start dribbling to the opposing team’s basket.
- The defense cannot touch or steal the ball.
- The offense must try and lose the defense and make a shot.
- After the defense makes it back to the end line, they will then join the offensive line.
- We will begin a new game once everyone has a chance at being offense and defense.
Game 1: Play as indicated above.
Game 2: Have students dribble with their non-dominant hand.
TEACHING TIPS
- Discussion: Ask students to share who they saw doing a good job at getting in the ready position while on defense.

Today we are playing Basket Weave. Your goal is to get from one end of the court to the other, while protecting your ball around the defenders.
INSTRUCTIONS
- I will select one student to begin as the dribbler.
- He/she will begin at the baseline.
- Everyone else will be a defender.
- Defenders cannot move their feet, hands or arms.
- Before the game begins, defenders must spread out an equal distance from the baseline to the end line.
- When I say, “GO!” the dribbler must dribble in a weaving pattern from the baseline to the end line.
- The dribbler cannot go outside the boundary cones.
- Once the dribbler makes it to the half-way point, the defender closest to the baseline will begin as the
- dribbler.
- When the dribbler gets to the end line, he/she becomes the last defender and everyone moves down.
- We will begin a new game when everyone has had a chance to be a dribbler.
Game 1: Play as indicated above. Defenders cannot steal, grab or knock the ball away from the dribblers.
Game 2: Defenders can move their arms, but cannot move their feet.
Game 3: Defenders can move their arms and try to steal the ball away from the dribblers. Defenders still cannot move their feet.

INSTRUCTIONS
- I will divide you into teams of two.
- Ro Sham Bo to decide who will start with the ball first.
- When I say, "GO!" try and make a shot without your feet leaving the ground from any dot.
- Once you have shot, your teammate will rebound the ball.
- If both teammates make the shot from the dot, then they get to pick up and keep the dot.
- We will begin a new game once there are no more dots on the court.
Game 1: Play as indicated above. See how many dots your team can collect.
Game 2: Once you pick up a dot, your team is allowed to put the dot wherever you choose.

- We will begin a new game and rotate teams at the end of 10 minutes.
Game 1: Play as indicated above. Rotate teams after 10 minutes.
TEACHING TIPS
- Approach: Remind students this game favors the offense since one team is automatically outnumbered. Ø Approach: Give students the option to be in a competitive or non-competitive group.
- Discussion: Ask students to share who they saw doing a good job at using a pump fake in the game.
