STORYLINE
Today we are playing Bermuda Triangle. Your goal is to swim from island to island (hula-hoop) while protecting your coconut (soccer ball).
INSTRUCTIONS
- Before the game begins, chose an island to start on with your coconut.
- I will begin on the center island.
- When I say, “GO!” start dribbling your coconut to another island.
- Once you get to another island, stop your coconut by placing your foot on top of the ball.
- We will begin a new game when everyone has made it to another island.
Game 1: Play as indicated above.
Game 2: Call out specific colors children have to dribble to.
Game 3: Coach starts off at the center island and can steal anyone’s coconut.
Game 4: Time limit – children must get to an island before time is up.
TEACHING TIPS
- Approach: Start with only three islands first then add more depending on child skill level.
- Approach: Remind students to keep their heads up while dribbling to avoid bumping into others.
