STORYLINE
Today we are Warming Up before our games. Your goal is to follow the Coach and listen to the instructions.
INSTRUCTIONS
When I say, “GO!” run in the different animal movements from the baseline to the end line.
Run like a turtle (run slowly and put your arms behind your back)
Run like a cheetah (run as fast as you can)
Run like a giraffe (put your arms together above your head to make a long neck)
Run like an elephant (put your arm out in front of your body to make a trunk)
Run like a penguin(put your arms out to the sideand waddle)
Run like a dog
Swim like a fish (use your arms to swim)
Duck walk (squat and waddle like a duck)
Bear crawl
Hop like a bunny
Leap like a frog
EQUIPMENT
1 soccer ball per child
STORYLINE
Today we are playing Animal House. Your goal is to dribble your soccer ball around the field and listen to which animal and body part that is called out.
INSTRUCTIONS
Before the game begins, you must line up on the baseline with your ball.
When I say, “GO!” begin dribbling around the field.
When I call out an animal and a body part, you must stop dribbling and balance with one foot on your ball. Then, put that body part on the ball (i.e. “cow nose”- children put their nose on their ball).
Variation 1: Play as indicated above.
Variation 2: Children dribble around the field on “start”. Foot tap stop ball on “stop”
TEACHING TIPS
Have children put their arms out to the sides (like an airplane) to help them balance better.
Remind children they should be dribbling and not kicking the ball far forward.

STORYLINE
Today we are playing Hot Lava. In this game, a volcano has just erupted! Your goal is to avoid touching the lava.
INSTRUCTIONS
Before the game begins, line up shoulder-to-shoulder on the baseline with your ball.
When I say, “GO!” start dribbling your ball around the field.
Remember to use little kicks to dribble your ball.
When I say, “Hot Lava!” you must dribble your ball onto the island in the middle of the field.
Game 1: Play as indicated above.
TEACHING TIPS
Approach: Remind children to keep their heads up while dribbling so they do not bump into other children.
Discussion: Ask children to share who they saw using their little kicks to keep the ball close to their body.

STORYLINE
Today we are playing Jelly Bean. In this game, you must dribble your soccer ball and try to knock Jelly Beans (soccer pinnies) out of the candy machine (coach).
INSTRUCTIONS
Before the game begins, line up shoulder-to-shoulder on the baseline with your ball.
When I say, “GO!” start dribbling around the field.
When your ball hits my feet, I will drop a Jelly Bean for you.
We will begin a new game, when I have no more Jelly Beans left.
Game 1: Play as indicated above.
TEACHING TIPS
Approach: Remind children to keep their heads up while dribbling to avoid bumping into others.
Approach: Remind children they should be kicking the ball forward. Children should not be more than two feet away from their soccer ball.
Discussion: Ask children to share who they saw doing a good job at kicking their ball at the candy machine from a distance.

STORYLINE
Today we are playing Scrimmage B. Your goal is to shoot a soccer ball into the opposing team’s goal.
INSTRUCTIONS
I will divide you into two teams – using soccer pinnes to tell who you are.
Before the game begins, line up shoulder-to-shoulder with your team on either the baseline or end line.
When I say, “GO!”:
Run to the midline
Retrieve a ball
Kick it into the opposing team’s goal
You can only kick one ball at a time.
After you have shot on goal, run back to your team and sit down on the baseline or end line.
We will begin a new game once everyone has scored a goal.
Game 1: Play as indicated above.
Game 2: Play as indicated above. Keep track of how many goals are scored for each team.
TEACHING TIPS
Approach: Remind children that there are enough balls on the midline for everyone.
Discussion: Ask children to share what was easy or hard about kicking the ball from a distance into the other team’s goal.

8 short cones (2 red, 2 blue, 2 yellow, 2 green)
1 hula-hoop
STORYLINE
Today we are playing Hungry Hogs. In this game you are all piglets in a barn getting ready for the hungry hog feeding time. Your goal is to bring all the barrels of hay (soccer balls) to the pens (goal) until all the hogs have full bellies.
INSTRUCTIONS
Before the game begins, line up shoulder-to-shoulder on the baseline.
When I say, “GO!” run towards the middle of the barn, grab a barrel of hay and dribble it back to any pen.
You may only take one barrel of hay at a time.
We will begin a new game when there are no more barrels of hay and all the hogs have full bellies.
Game 1: Play as indicated above. Piglets can bring hay to any pen of their choosing.
Game 2: Have piglets bring hay for all the hungry hogs in the red pen.
Game 3: Have piglets bring hay for all the hungry hogs in the blue pen.
Game 4: Have piglets bring hay for all the hungry hogs in the green pen.
Game 5: Have piglets bring hay for all the hungry hogs in the yellow pen.
TEACHING TIPS
Approach: Remind children to keep their heads up while dribbling to avoid bumping into others.
Discussion: Ask children to share who they saw trying their best at collecting the hay and kicking the hay forward using their laces.

STORYLINE
Today we are playing Four Baskets. Your goal is to shoot as many stinky cheese balls (soccer balls) into the baskets (goals).
INSTRUCTIONS
Before the game begins, line up shoulder-to-shoulder on the baseline.
When I say, “GO!” begin shooting stinky cheese balls into the other team’s baskets.
When I say, “freeze" you must stop.
Game 1: Play as indicated above.
Game 2: Move the baskets to different spots.
TEACHING TIPS
Approach: Remind children to shoot with their laces.
Approach: Children should be kicking the ball into the goal using their laces.
Discussion: Ask children to share who they saw doing a good job using their laces.
