STORYLINE
Today we are going to start class by taking a few trips. We'll take a car, a plane and a train!
OPENING RUNS
- Today we're going to take some trips. Grab your steering wheels, we're going to go for our first drive!
- Have kids pretend to drive their "cars" to one end of the field and park their cars at their dots.
- Drive to the park and ask kids, "what do you see at the park? do you like to use the slide? the swings?"
- Drive to the zoo and ask kids, "what animals do you see at the zoo? what animal has a long trunk?"
- Drive to Disneyland or the grocery store or movies and ask kids, "what do you see at these places"
- Then say, "now we're going to be airplanes!" Collect all of the steering wheels.
- Fly to Hawaii and ask kids, "what animals live in the ocean?"
- Have kids do the hula dance with you for extra fun
- Fly to Hawaii and ask kids, "what animals live in the ocean?"
- Then say, "now we're going to be a train!" Put your arm up and say, "Chooo, choo, we're going to take the train to San Francisco.
- Train to SF and ask kids, "what's the big bridge called in San Francisco?"
- Show kids how to make a bridge with their hands and say, "the Golden Gate bridge is red! What color is the bridge?"
- Train to SF and ask kids, "what's the big bridge called in San Francisco?"
- Add any variations needed to make it more fun or take different trips.

STORYLINE
Today we are playing Knock ‘Em Down. You are monsters in the big city and your goal is to knock all the cones over using your feet.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Before the game begins, line up on the baseline. Explain to parents that this game is to teach them how to kick the soccer ball.
- When I say, “GO!” start running around the field, kicking cones down.
- When I say, “Freeze!" you must stop.
- Ask parents to help by going around the field and putting cones back up.
- Have everyone go back to their dots before another round.
TEACHING TIPS
- Approach: Remind children to use their biggest kicks.
- Approach: As children are knocking the cones down, coach can continue to set the cones upright.

STORYLINE
Today we are playing Simon Says. Your goal is follow Simon’s instructions, first without your soccer ball.
INSTRUCTIONS
- I will begin as Simon. Explain the parents that this is to teach them not to use their hands in soccer.
- When I say, "Simon says….” you must repeat that action."
- If I do not say, “Simon says” then do not follow.
- Say, "Simon says, show me hands and wave them in the air."
- Say, "Simon says, clap your hands with me."
- Say, "Simon says, show me your right foot."
- Say, "Simon says, show me your left foot."
- Say, "Simon says, say this with me, we use our feet in soccer!" (wiggle your feet)
- Say, "Simon says, say this with me, we DON'T use our hands in soccer! (wave your hands, noo!)
- Repeat that 3 times without the soccer ball.
- Then show them the soccer and put it under your feet in soccer position .

Now we are playing Simon Says with our soccer balls!
INSTRUCTIONS
- Now, we're going to play with a soccer ball!
- If I do not say, “Simon says” then do not follow.
- Say, "Simon says, put the soccer ball at your feet."
- Say, "Simon says, put your hand on your hips."
- Say, "Simon says, put your hands in the air and say, nooo hands in soccer!"
- Say, "Simon says, when I say go, kick the ball to the other end of the field, GO!"
- Say, "Simon says, now we're going to learn how to stop our balls!"
- Say, "Simon says, put your foot on top, Simon Says, take your foot down."
- Add your own variations as you'd like.

STORYLINE
Today we are playing Red Light, Green Light. In this game, we are sports cars driving on the road. Your goal is to watch and listen to the traffic light as you drive with your soccer ball.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Before the game begins, you must line up shoulder-to-shoulder on the baseline. I will pass out a soccer ball.
- When I say, “Green light!” begin dribbling forward.
- When I say, “Red light!” stop your ball and freeze in place.
- Each time you add a new light, have kids go back to their dots and demonstrate the skill.
- Add a “yellow light” for children to toe tap on their ball.
- Add a "purple light" for dance parties.
- Add a "blue light" for jumping jacks.
Game 1: Depending on class skill, play without soccer balls.
Game 2: Add a “yellow light” for children to toe tap on their ball.
Variation: Coach can hold up color dots to indicate when the traffic light changes color.

STORYLINE
Today we are playing Avalanche. Your goal is to make it to the end line without being hit by a snowball (fuzzy ball).
INSTRUCTIONS
- Before the game begins, line up shoulder-to-shoulder on the baseline.
- When I say, “GO!” dribble to the end line with your ball.
- The Coach will be on the sideline throwing snowballs at you.
- Try to make it across without getting hit.
- We will begin a new game once everyone has made it across.
Game 1: Play as indicated above.
Game 2: Children continuously dribble back and forth.
Game 3: If a child is hit with a snowball, he/she must complete a physical challenge (jumping jacks, run a lap etc.)
TEACHING TIPS
- Approach: Remind children to keep their heads up while dribbling to avoid bumping into others.

STORYLINE
Today we are playing Goalie Kicks. Your goal is to try and make a shot on goal.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Before the game begins, shoulder-to-shoulder on the baseline.
- When I say, “GO!” run to the hula-hoop and get a soccer ball.
- Once you have a ball, try and kick it into any goal.
- Once you have shot on goal, retrieve your ball and try another goal.
Game 1: Play as indicated above.
Game 2: Have children shot on goal into one specific goal. Choose another goal after that.
Game 3: Coach can defend at different goals. Allow children to make shots on goal when defending.
Game 4: Rearrange the goals.
TEACHING TIPS
- Approach: Have parents help their children to avoid kicking the ball into the goal while others are retrieving their ball.

Big parachute

STORYLINE
Today we are ending our class with a parachute game. We are going to try to make a big cave with our parachute.
CLEAN UP
- Have kids clean up the equipment using color (i.e. Pick up a piece of equipment that is red, blue, green etc.)
CLOSING PARACHUTE
- Make big waves with the parachute like the ocean!
- Make small waves like the lake!
- Now we're going to make a cave. Tell parents that on the count of 3, we're going to lift the parachute to the sky and walk 3 steps forward, placing the parachute under our bottoms to make a cave.
- If the cave is not high enough, make the cave again.
- Once under the parachute, choose a few songs to sing based on how much time you have left:

- Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star
- Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed
