OBJECTIVE
Today we are playing a Futsal. In this game, the objective is to scrimmage a soccer game on a gym (basketball or volleyball) floor and be the winning team

INSTRUCTIONS

  • I will divide you into four teams – using flags to tell who you are.
  • Ro Sham Bo to decide which team will start first with the ball in the middle.
  • When I say, “GO!” advance down the field to try and score on your opponent team’s goal.
  • All GrowFit soccer rules apply.
  • We will begin a new game after 10 minutes.
 

Game 1: Team 1 vs. Team 2, Team 3 vs. Team 4
Game 2: Team 1 vs. Team3, Team 2 vs. Team
Game 3: Team 1 vs. Team 4, Team 2 vs. Team 3

 

TEACHING TIPS

  • Approach: Divide teams equally based on athletic ability.
  • Approach: If there not enough students to make even teams the teacher can play.
  • Approach: Consider enforcing a passing rule before scoring (must pass to everyone before scoring) if not all students are participating.
  • Approach: Depending on class size, consider playing with two teams of 6-11 students each. Each team can have substitutes that can rotate in.
  • Discussion: Ask students to share who they saw attacking the ball during the scrimmage.
