STORYLINE
This activity is called Harry Potter Tag. In this game the teacher will select 3 Dementors (black cloaks), 3 Deatheaters (black coned hats), 2 Rons (magic wands), and 1 Harry Potter (black plastic glasses). The rest of the group begins as a human. The objective of the game is for Harry Potter to use help from his friends, the Rons, to avoid being tagged by a Fury.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Dementors are the only ones that can cast red spells (throw red fuzzy balls). If a human is hit by a red spell they have to freeze for 20 seconds. If a Ron does not save them during those 20 seconds, by waiving the magic wand over their head, they become a fury.
- The humans are the only ones that can have a red spell cast on them
- The fury are the only characters in the game who can tag Harry Potter and end the round
- Deatheaters are trying to help the Dementors by casting blue spells (throwing blue fuzzy balls) on the Rons. If a Ron is hit by a blue spell, they must freeze for 10 seconds.
- Harry Potter is the only one that can cast a purple spell (throw a purple fuzzy ball).
- A purple spell breaks a blue spell and gets the Ron back into the game without waiting 10 seconds.
- If the Rons fail to break the Red Spells, more people become Fury and have a better chance of catching Harry Potter.
- Harry Potter can only be tagged by a Fury so it's up to the Rons to try and keep the people from becoming Fury.
- Deatheaters will try to keep the Rons down long enough for the Dementors to cast spells and make more Furies.
Game 1: Play as indicated above.

- Approach: Make sure to change roles each round so every kid gets a chance to be a character.
