STORYLINE
Today we are playing Minions and Villains. In this game, the objective of the game is for players to try to be the “last minion standing”.

INSTRUCTIONS

  • I will choose one villain and all other players are “Minions” and start at one end of the field.
  • When the villain yells, "run minions, run!" the other players have to try to reach the other side of the field without getting tagged by the villain.
  • If a minion makes it safely to an end zone without being tagged, they are safe.
  • If a minion goes outside of the boundaries, they become a villain.
  • If a minion is tagged, they become a villain for the next round.
  • When there is only 1 minion left the game starts over and the teacher selects new villains.
  • If a minion is tagged, they become a villain for the next round.
  • This continues back and forth across the field until there is only one minion left.

Game 1: Play the game as described above.
Game 2: Have the minions and villains wear the costumes. Note: there are only 6 minion items and 6 villain items. Please make sure you select new kids to wear the costumes each game.
Game 3: Villains now have “Kaboomies” at their disposal. Kaboomies are large volleyballs that they can roll (not throw) at the minions. If a minion is tagged or hit by a kaboomie, they become a villains for the next round.
Game 4: Give the minions foam shield that they can use to block the kaboomies.

TEACHING TIPS

  • Safety: Remind students to be aware of their surroundings and to avoid bumping into others.
  • Discussion: Ask students to share examples of who they saw doing a good job at keeping their head up and not bumping into others while being a minion.
